Rina’s professional experience spans two decades of work in technology innovation, commercialization, and developing new ventures in the areas of advanced materials/nanotechnology, cleantech, chemical manufacturing, and life science. She has held various roles in pharmaceutical drug discovery R&D (Merck-Frosst, Syntex), Advanced Materials/Nanotechnology (Xerox), directed a global technology incubator program (Xerox), and in cleantech as Director of Commercial Development at GreenCentre Canada. Rina established a technology innovation consulting firm that works with SME companies and non-profit organizations to accelerate business development and product commercialization. Rina’s credentials include a Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Waterloo, certificates in Business Model Innovation from Harvard University, Executive Management from McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business, and she holds Green-belt certificate in Lean Six Sigma Design. Rina is very committed to helping technology companies achieve business success through her volunteer work serving on non-profit boards (Nano Ontario, Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology) and several funding grant review committees including NSERC Research Partnerships Programs, Canada Foundation for Innovation and Ontario Centres of Excellence. She is passionate about technology innovation and entre/intrapreneurship, and actively coaches young STEM grads on exploring a career path in the business of technology.
